In addition, some middle to high level clouds are moving into the Great Plains. Light snow is falling over parts of South Dakota and Nebraska.

Meanwhile, an area of low pressure extends a warm front through southeastern North Dakota and into central South Dakota. The system drops southeastward through the afternoon, bringing warmer air to the Northern Plains and allowing temperatures reach near to above normal values. The remainder of the East continues to experience cold weather with below average temperatures as an Arctic dome of high pressure lingers over the area. High pressure results in clear skies, calm winds, and significant cooling, thus resulting in Freeze and Windchill Warnings/Advisories across most of the Southeast.
